On the afternoon of September 22, the 2025 Pujiang Innovation Forum - Future Energy: Controlled Nuclear Fusion Special Forum was held in Shanghai. Yang Zhao, founder of Energy Singularity, was invited to deliver a keynote speech.
Founded in 2021, Energy Singularity is China's first fusion energy startup and a global leader in integrated high-temperature superconducting tokamak solutions. Since its establishment, Energy Singularity has adhered to the values of "Ultimate Efficiency, Seeking Truth from Facts," boldly exploring on the path to accelerating the commercialization of fusion energy and achieving multiple world-leading R&D results. In June 2024, we built and operated the world's first full high-temperature superconducting tokamak device - HH70, taking the lead in completing the engineering feasibility verification of the high-temperature superconducting tokamak innovative technical route. HH70 was selected as one of the "2024 Outstanding Typical Cases of Future Industry Innovation and Development" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the only selected case in the controlled nuclear fusion field. In March 2025, the large-size high-temperature superconducting toroidal field magnet developed by Energy Singularity - Jingtian Magnet - was successfully energized to 21.7 Tesla, setting a new record for the highest magnetic field of large-aperture high-temperature superconducting D-shaped magnets. HH170, the next-generation device currently under development by Energy Singularity, aims to achieve fusion net energy gain and is planned to be built and operational by 2027.
