Founder and CEO of Energy Singularity, Yang Zhao, Awarded “Pudong New Area Science and Technology Elite” in the Inaugural Ceremony

May 30, 2023, marked the seventh National Day for Science and Technology Workers. On this day, the inaugural Pudong New Area Science and Technology Elite Commendation Ceremony was held at the Pudong Mass Art Center. The ceremony awarded 49 individuals with the title of “Pudong New Area Science and Technology Elite,” including Yang Zhao, the founder and CEO of Energy Singularity, who received the trophy. The commendation ceremony reviewed the history of Pudong’s technological development, showcased the demeanor of Pudong’s scientific and technological talents, and inspired the vast number of science and technology workers in the district to strive for new heights in science and technology and to create new brilliance in Pudong’s scientific and technological endeavors.

Attendees at the event included Zhu Zhisong, a member of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Pudong New Area District Committee; Chen Saijuan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chairman of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology; Shen Wenqing, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Lin Guoqiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Ding Jian, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chairman of the Pudong New Area Association for Science and Technology; Tian He, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Han Zhiqiang, Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology; Tian Chunhua, Director of the Pudong New Area People’s Congress Standing Committee; Ji Zhaoliang, Chairman of the Pudong New Area Political Consultative Conference; and Wu Qiang, Deputy District Mayor of Pudong New Area, who presented awards to the 49 “Pudong New Area Science and Technology Elites.” Before the meeting, leaders at the municipal and district levels, along with academicians, met cordially with these scientific and technological elites, congratulated them, took commemorative photos, and encouraged them to continue to break through with wisdom and courage, leading the way in innovation and the future.
