On December 8, 2023, the final selection meeting for the “Youth of the Era · Pioneering Power” 2023 Pudong New Area Outstanding Youth Leading Action took place at the Pudong New Area Integrated Media Center. After voting by a 99-member observation team composed of representatives from the government, enterprises, media, research institutions, industry associations, and outstanding young people from various fields, a total of 10 individuals were honored as “Top Ten Outstanding Youth of Pudong 2023,” including Yang Zhao, the founder and CEO of Energy Singularity. An additional 10 individuals received nominations for the “Top Ten Outstanding Youth of Pudong 2023.”
This event was guided by the district committee’s talent office and the district youth league committee, and hosted by the district youth federation. Since its launch in September, it has received 141 candidate materials that met the application requirements. After preliminary selection, qualification review, and public praise, 25 official candidates stood out and participated in the final competition.
The 25 official candidates came from various fields such as innovation and entrepreneurship, social governance, frontline skills, modern services, and scientific technology. Some are striving to create innovative “nuclear explosion points” in scientific and technological reform, some adhere to the production front and practice the spirit of craftsmanship, and others explore new paths to help farmers and empower rural revitalization. On the new journey of leading district construction, they remember their entrustment, have a broad vision, and strive to be the youth pioneers of the new era in their respective fields.
Zhao Huimao, the district youth league committee secretary, delivered a speech at the event and put forward three expectations for Pudong’s youth talent and youth talent work: First, he looks forward to the brand of “Pudong Outstanding Youth” becoming stronger and stronger. The Pudong district youth league committee will help more young talents to stand out and help Pudong build a “reservoir” of global talents; Second, he looks forward to the momentum of “Pudong Outstanding Youth” becoming more and more vigorous. He hopes that young friends will firmly carry the mission entrusted to Shanghai and Pudong, and strive to be good young people of the new era with ideals, courage to take responsibility, ability to endure hardship, and willingness to struggle; Third, he looks forward to the environment created by all sectors of society for the development of young people becoming increasingly warm. He hopes that all sectors of society will continue to integrate various advantages and resources, making Pudong a vibrant and dream city for the growth and success of young people.
