On August 15 2023, the general assembly of the HH70 high-temperature superconducting tokamak device has officially commenced. The HH70 is designed, researched, and developed by Energy Singularity, and the overall assembly is constructed by China Nuclear Industry Fifth Construction Co., Ltd. The teams from both sides will work closely together to ensure the smooth and timely completion of the HH70 device assembly.
The HH70 is a full high-temperature superconducting tokamak device designed and developed by Energy Singularity, planned to be completed and operational by the end of 2023. All the magnetic systems of the HH70 device, including the Toroidal Field (TF) coils, Poloidal Field (PF) coils, and the Central Solenoid (CS) coil, are constructed with high-temperature superconducting materials. At that time, HH70 will become the world’s first full high-temperature superconducting tokamak device to be built and operated, taking the lead in verifying the engineering feasibility of the high-temperature superconducting tokamak technology route at the complete device level.
