On July 5, 2023, the first toroidal field (TF) coil for the HH70 high-temperature superconducting tokamak device was successfully manufactured. The individual TF coil resembles the capital letter “D” in shape and is fabricated through a multi-step process involving winding, insulation, impregnation, and other procedures using high-temperature superconducting tapes. A total of 12 TF coils, identical in size and parameters, will work together to create the toroidal magnetic field of the HH70 tokamak.
