DR. HOUYANG GUO Joined Energy Singularity as Chief Technology Officer

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Houyang Guo, former CTO for fusion energy development and VP of Xin Ao Group, Co., Ltd., Director of Boundary Plasma and Materials Interactions research center of General Atomics, and Chief Experimental Strategist of TAE Technologies, has joined Energy Singularity as Chief Technology Officer. As CTO of Energy Singularity, Dr. Guo will play a crucial role in developing and executing the company’s strategic objectives, and lead our plasma physics experiment research team directly.

Dr. Guo is an APS fellow and a well-respected physicist in plasma physics and nuclear fusion research with a distinguished 30+ year career in fusion energy research including senior leadership positions in Europe, US and China, with General Atomics, TAE Technologies, University of Washington, JET Joint Undertaking and etc. Prior to joining Energy Singularity, Dr. Guo used to work as Director of Boundary/Plasma-Materials Interaction Center and Senior Advisor for Core-Edge Integration at DIII-D National Fusion Program, the largest fusion research facility in the US, and Chief Experimental Strategist and Director of Experiment and Operation Division of TAE Technologies. He also recently worked as VP and CTO for fusion energy development at Xin Ao Group, Co., Ltd.

郭后扬博士是全球范围内顶尖的磁约束核聚变物理学家,在欧洲、美国、加拿大和中国有超过30年的磁约束核聚变研发经验。他曾担任新奥集团副总裁、聚变研发首席技术官,美国通用原子公司边界等离子体及材料研究中心主任,美国TAE公司首席实验战略家,美国物理学会会士(APS Fellow),国家特聘专家,曾代表美国能源部负责协调中美核聚变合作研究,曾任ITER科学技术委员会成员,中国磁约束专家组成员,曾参与和领导欧共体JET、中科院EAST和美国DIII-D托卡马克的物理研究,以及美国华盛顿大学和TAE公司的紧凑场反位型磁约束聚变研究。
